(American Hotel, circa 1900)

Mr. Fink entered into a business partnership with H. H. Newton (owner of the adjacent lot on Main Street) and together in about 1871, they built the three-story brick structure we see today.  Mr. Newton’s general store was attached to The American Hotel until it was removed in 1978 to make room for the new Village Hall.
